MyDispense is an online pharmacy simulation tool, developed by Monash University, that allows students to practice dispensing in a safe environment. The system is designed to allow users to build knowledge, improve cognitive proficiency and develop professional values and attitudes. Since its inception in 2010, MyDispense has had a significant impact on teaching at Monash Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and in many other schools of pharmacy around the world. To date over 400,000 exercises have been completed by students globally.
In response to international demand, the first MyDispense Global Symposium was held in July 2016. This highly successful event had 40 attendees from 17 countries. We are looking forward to making the 2018 symposium even better. We are increasing the number of participants to 60, so that we can reflect the growth of MyDispense globally in the last two years, and also preserve the intimate and friendly atmosphere that was so appreciated last time. We are still refining the program for 2018, but we can say that there will be many opportunities to engage with fellow pharmacy educators and the MyDispense team to extend your knowledge of the system and to maximise the benefits that MyDispense can deliver for your teaching.
During the 2018 symposium you can:
Learn how to introduce MyDispense into your curriculum.
Hear how to harness the full power of the MyDispense software from experts.
Be the first to see the new release of MyDispense version 6.
Help to set the goals for future developments in MyDispense.
Work with colleagues from around the world to create new cases that truly reflect global pharmacy.
Share content, cases, patients and best practice with other pharmacy educators.
Learn how to use MyDispense for assessment.
Present on MyDispense or other simulation and technology-based teaching innovations.
Abstracts are published in the Pharmacy Education Journal.
Places are limited to 60 attendees, so register early to avoid disappointment.
